
Deborah Heuckeroth, PE, ENV SP
Debbie Heuckeroth is a licensed professional engineer with more than 30 years of environmental experience. At Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Consumer Health in Fort Washington she serves as Manager, Environmental Health & Safety. Prior to joining J&J, Debbie worked at Lafayette Environmental Consulting as an independent consultant, providing services to General Electric (GE) and Arkema (a multinational chemical manufacturer). She assisted GE’s corporate EHS group with sustainability reporting and environmental management systems, and assisted with environmental compliance and risk reduction at GE’s Energy Storage and Water & Process Technologies businesses. She audited facilities in over 10 countries on four continents, North America, Europe, Asia and Africa, and assisted in strategic decision-making related to qualification of third-party chemical manufacturers, terminals, warehouses and waste vendors. She conducted environmental training globally and researched environmental regulations in over 30 countries. Earlier in her career, she worked in the chemical industry on major capital projects, and in consulting as a project manager on projects including wastewater permitting, and environmental remediation systems design, construction and operations.
Debbie earned an MS in Civil Engineering (Environmental) from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Maryland. She is an Envision® Sustainability Professional credentialed by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure. She is a member of the Wissahickon Trails Water Resources Committee. Debbie is also a member of the Sanitation Standing Content Committee and Philadelphia Professional Chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB-USA). She has presented on global water, wastewater, waste and EHS engagement topics at conferences for EWB-USA, UN Association, ORCHSE, EHSICC, NAEM and as a guest lecturer at University of Pennsylvania.
