Volunteer
The Global Water Alliance is an all-volunteer organization. The board works on strategic planning, seeks funds, and identifies projects where a feasible impact is possible. Our work focuses on raising awareness, education at home and abroad, and on undertaking or assisting in projects in the field. The scopes of our projects range from planning and feasibility assessment, to implementation, and evaluation.
Over the years, our volunteers work with us on educational programs such as the Alternative Model UN on Water Management, conference planning, fundraising activities like water walks and runs, or doing research on relevant problems in the arena of global safe water resource management. Our volunteers therefore include mentors and mentees, faculty and students, professionals and community members. They may go abroad, but can also be very much involved in website management, writing blogs, working with STEM and Social science teachers on lesson plans and being liaisons with collaborating entities such as the Engineers Without Borders, H2OforLife, Water for People and with several departments of our universities.
We create volunteer opportunities on the basis of each person’s interests and strengths. We have a bi-weekly meeting of our students and volunteers and we believe that young people can enhance their professional life and aspirations through working with and within the Global Water Alliance.
